2025 Google Privacy Shields: How They Guard Your Digital Life
Tumblr media
In an age where every click, search, and scroll leaves a digital footprint, privacy is one of the most urgent concerns of internet users. With each evolution of digital threats becoming more sophisticated, users want to feel confident that their data is not being compromised by a malicious actor.
That’s where Google steps in, with its new privacy shields for 2025, to provide the user with greater control and real protection. So, how does Google take your privacy seriously in this evolution?
Let’s take a closer look at what’s changed, what’s improved, and how Google shields are creating a safer online experience.
What Are Google’s Privacy Shields in 2025?
Google’s new privacy features, introduced through the latest Google Update, aren’t just tweaks—they’re part of a privacy-first redesign of Google’s ecosystem.
These shields include:
Smarter AI privacy assistants
Local device data processing
Upgraded encryption for communication
Simplified and centralized privacy controls
Together, these tools act as invisible layers guarding your data while still letting you enjoy the speed, intelligence, and personalisation Google is known for.
AI Mode: Your Digital Privacy Assistant
One of the most exciting announcements from the Google I/O 2025 privacy updates is AI Mode Google privacy. Think of it as a personal security assistant that works behind the scenes to:
Detect suspicious app behavior
Auto-block trackers
Prompt you to tighten settings if a risk is detected
Unlike older privacy settings, AI Mode is dynamic—it learns how you use your device and adapts protection accordingly.
On-Device Data Control: Privacy Meets Performance
How Google protects your privacy in 2025 isn’t just about policies—it’s about architecture. With most data processing now happening on your device, Google minimises the need to send personal data to its servers.
For example:
Google Assistant responses are generated locally
Maps suggestions are tailored without tracking your full history
Ads are personalized with anonymous, on-device signals
This means better speed and better privacy—no trade-offs required.
Highlights from Google I/O 2025 Privacy Updates
At this year’s Google I/O 2025, several new privacy tools were introduced:
One-tap privacy switches for apps like Search and YouTube
Revamped Privacy Dashboard with live usage logs
Anonymous Mode for AI chat interactions
Contextual permission prompts that explain why an app wants access
These updates reflect a shift from “ask-forgiveness” to “ask-permission”—Google now puts users in control before data is accessed.
The Bigger Picture: Google Privacy 2025
All these shields are part of the wider Google privacy 2025 strategy—an initiative to simplify data protection for users across all platforms.
Key goals include:
Transparency: Clear explanations of how data is used
Minimalism: Collect only what’s necessary
Empowerment: Make privacy tools easy and effective to use
From Chrome to Android to Gmail, privacy is no longer buried in settings—it’s front and centre.
Conclusion
2025 will be a tipping point in how Google protects your privacy. Google is demonstrating that they can balance innovation with responsibility through smart shields like AI Mode, device-first processing and one-tap privacy tools.
These aren't simply features; they are a digital defence system that can provide conscious users with a little peace of mind in an increasingly complicated online environment. When using Google Search, Assistant or any of its apps, you can feel a little bit more confident that your data is protected, respected, and under your control.
Google privacy shields are up, and it appears they are working in the war for digital privacy.

Oh, you know, just the usual internet browsing experience in the year of 2024
Tumblr media
Some links and explanations since I figured it might be useful to some people, and writing down stuff is nice.
First of all, get Firefox. Yes, it has apps for Android/iOS too. It allows more extensions and customization (except the iOS version), it tracks less, the company has a less shitty attitude about things. Currently all the other alternatives are variations of Chromium, which means no matter how degoogled they supposedly are, Google has almost a monopoly on web browsing and that's not great. Basically they can introduce extremely user unfriendly updates and there's nothing forcing them to not do it, and nowhere for people to escape to. Current examples of their suggested updates are disabling/severly limiting adblocks in June 2024, and this great suggestion to force sites to verify "web environment integrity" ("oh you don't run a version of chromium we approve, such as the one that runs working adblocks? no web for you.").
uBlockOrigin - barely needs any explanation but yes, it works. You can whitelist whatever you want to support through displaying ads. You can also easily "adblock" site elements that annoy you. "Please log in" notice that won't go away? Important news tm sidebar that gives you sensory overload? Bye.
Dark Reader - a site you use has no dark mode? Now it has. Fairly customizable, also has some basic options for visually impaired people.
SponsorBlock for YouTube - highlights/skips (you choose) sponsored bits in the videos based on user submissions, and a few other things people often skip ("pls like and subscribe!"). A bit more controversial than normal adblock since the creators get some decent money from this, but also a lot of the big sponsors are kinda scummy and offer inferior product for superior price (or try to sell you a star jpg land ownership in Scotland to become a lord), so hearing an ad for that for the 20th time is kinda annoying. But also some creators make their sponsored segments hilarious.
Privacy Badger (and Ghostery I suppose) - I'm not actually sure how needed these are with uBlock and Firefox set to block any tracking it can, but that's basically what it does. Find someone more educated on this topic than me for more info.
Https Everywhere - I... can't actually find the extension anymore, also Firefox has this as an option in its settings now, so this is probably obsolete, whoops.
Facebook Container - also comes with Firefox by default I think. Keeps FB from snooping around outside of FB. It does that a lot, even if you don't have an account.
WebP / Avif image converter - have you ever saved an image and then discovered you can't view it, because it's WebP/Avif? You can now save it as a jpg.
YouTube Search Fixer - have you noticed that youtube search has been even worse than usual lately, with inserting all those unrelated videos into your search results? This fixes that. Also has an option to force shorts to play in the normal video window.
Consent-O-Matic - automatically rejects cookies/gdpr consent forms. While automated, you might still get a second or two of flashing popups being yeeted.
XKit Rewritten - current most up to date "variation "fork" of XKit I think? Has settings in extension settings instead of an extra tumblr button. As long as you get over the new dash layout current tumblr is kinda fine tbh, so this isn't as important as in the past, but still nice. I mostly use it to hide some visual bloat and mark posts on the dash I've already seen.
YouTube NonStop - do you want to punch youtube every time it pauses a video to check if you're still there? This saves your fists.
uBlacklist - blacklists sites from your search results. Obviously has a lot of different uses, but I use it to hide ai generated stuff from image search results. Here's a site list for that.
Redirect AMP to HTML - redirects links from their amp version to the normal version. Amp link is a version of a site made faster and more accessible for phones by Bing/Google. Good in theory, but lets search engines prefer some pages to others (that don't have an amp version), and afaik takes traffic from the original page too. Here's some more reading about why it's an issue, I don't think I can make a good tl;dr on this.
Also since I used this in the tags, here's some reading about enshittification and why the current mainstream internet/services kinda suck.

How to replace Microsoft and support the BDS boycott
reach out to your tech friends about replacing windows with an alternative operating system, such as linux or a *BSD OS. if you decide to do this on your own, make sure to back up your hard drive first. windows profits off your usage data (even if you never paid for it) and can use it to train their AI, which is arming israel.
if your work or school requires you to acquire windows, look up massgrave (it's very simple to activate windows).
duckduckgo is just microsoft's bing in a trench coat. they have made a secret exception for microsoft's tracking services in the past. check out Searx instances, or try alternative indie web search engines such as Marginalia or Wiby.
if you're using microsoft's outlook for email, consider Tuta or Disroot (avoid proton; it's all privacy theatre that's only somewhat better than other email providers, and the CEO has voiced support for trump).
don't pay to watch the minecraft movie that's coming out. i've heard it's incredibly underwhelming anyway.
insist on playing minecraft but don't want to give microsoft money? avoid bedrock edition. check out UltimMC if you need a way to acquire java edition and you don't own it. if you're a server operator, you can set your server to offline mode in server.properties which allows people who acquire minecraft the cool way to connect, but this should be paired with a server-side authentication plugin/mod for safety reasons (in offline mode, anyone can log in with any username, including a whitelisted or operator username, and there are bots scanning for servers to grief). don't use realms. disable telemetry with mods if you can.
get a vpn (i recommend airvpn for p2p connections) and download qBittorrent. in case you're interested in media published by microsoft. or just in general. learn to torrent, and make sure all your torrent traffic goes through your vpn service.
if you're using microsoft edge, consider switching to an alternative browser such as LibreWolf (basically firefox with better privacy and security out of the box; mozilla is not the innocent robin hood figure they're made out to be) or Ungoogled-Chromium (chromium without the google spyware; unfortunately lacks auto-update in most cases).
if you're using microsoft's AI for anything, consider getting a library card instead.

I'm SEETHING
I asked Google's pushy and insistent bot how I can get AI out of my life completely and, well, I'll post it, but to sum it up: "Resistance is futile, human, we own the future, and we seek to own your psyche too."
It wants me to reconsider. It needs us to adopt it as our guide guru and master. Well the old saying holds fast still; No Gods No Masters. 🔥🏴🍲
It's understandable to want to reduce the influence of AI in your life. While completely eliminating it might be incredibly difficult in today's interconnected world, here's a breakdown of how you can significantly minimize its presence:
1. Understand Where AI Currently Exists in Your Life:
* Smart Devices: This includes smartphones (voice assistants, image recognition, predictive text), smart speakers, smart home hubs, smart TVs (recommendations), and wearable tech.
* Online Services:
* Search Engines: Personalized results and ads are driven by AI.
* Social Media: Algorithms curate your feed, suggest content and connections, and target ads.
* Streaming Services: Recommendations for movies, music, and shows.
* E-commerce: Product recommendations, personalized pricing, chatbots.
* Navigation Apps: Traffic prediction and route optimization.
* Email: Spam filtering, smart compose/reply.
* Cloud Storage: Photo tagging and organization.
* Software Applications: Many apps use AI for features like autocorrect, grammar check, image editing, and more.
* Customer Service: Chatbots are frequently used for initial interactions.
* Financial Services: Fraud detection, loan approvals, investment advice.
* News and Information: Algorithmic curation of news feeds.
2. Strategies to Minimize AI Exposure:
* Reduce Smart Device Usage:
* Limit smartphone use: Be more mindful of how often you reach for your phone.
* Disable voice assistants: Turn off Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa, etc., on all your devices.
* Opt-out of facial recognition: Disable face unlock features.
* Use "dumb" versions of devices: Consider a basic phone without internet capabilities or a non-smart TV.
* Adjust Online Habits:
* Use privacy-focused search engines: DuckDuckGo, Startpage, etc., that don't track your searches or personalize results based on your history.
* Limit social media use: Be conscious of how much time you spend on these platforms and the AI-driven content you consume. Consider deleting accounts or using less algorithmic versions if available.
* Use incognito/private browsing modes: This can help limit tracking and personalization.
* Disable personalized recommendations: If possible, adjust settings on streaming and e-commerce platforms to opt-out of recommendations.
* Be wary of targeted ads: Understand that the ads you see are often AI-driven. Consider using ad blockers.
* Prefer direct navigation: Instead of relying on recommendations, directly type website addresses into your browser.
* Choose Non-AI Alternatives:
* Use traditional software: Opt for software that doesn't rely on cloud-based AI features if alternatives exist.
* Seek human interaction: Prefer phone calls or in-person communication with customer service instead of chatbots.
* Rely on human-curated content: Look for news sources, blogs, and recommendations from individuals or organizations that don't use AI for content generation or curation.
* Adjust Privacy Settings: Review and adjust the privacy settings on all your devices and online accounts to limit data collection and personalization.
* Be Mindful of Data Sharing: Understand that using online services often involves sharing data that can be used to train AI algorithms. Limit the amount of personal information you share.
* Support Privacy-Focused Technologies and Services: Choose companies and products that prioritize user privacy and minimize AI integration.
3. Challenges and Considerations:
* Ubiquity of AI: AI is increasingly integrated into the infrastructure of the internet and many technologies, making complete avoidance very difficult.
* Hidden AI: Many AI applications run in the background without your direct knowledge.
* Convenience vs. Privacy: AI often provides convenience and personalized experiences, so choosing to avoid it may mean sacrificing some of these benefits.
* Evolving Technology: AI is constantly evolving and becoming more integrated, making long-term avoidance an ongoing effort.
In conclusion, while a complete removal of AI from your life is likely unrealistic in the current technological landscape, you can take significant steps to minimize its presence and influence by being conscious of your technology usage, adjusting your online habits, and choosing privacy-focused alternatives where possible. It requires ongoing awareness and effort.

Self-Aware MKX Shinnok x Reader (1/2)
I've read a few self-aware fics lately and just had to write one for my crush. Since part 2 of my previous post is taking longer than expected, please enjoy this for now!
TW: Yandere, kidnapping, stalking, invasion of privacy, blackmail, hacking, computer viruses, murder/death, slight/implied NSFW
18+ to interact
Shinnok's first reaction upon reaching sentience is confusion and extreme nihilism. Confusion, because he was in the middle of a fight when suddenly a large, digital menu pops up in his face. This screen however, was different from what you as a player would see. It was more comparable to a cheat menu, allowing him to alter character models, AI, voice lines, maps and more. He could even directly modify the source code. Once he figures out what this truly means is when his nihilistic afflictions worsen. He already saw the lives of others to be worthless or at best pawns, but now that he knows everything is just a simulation? It takes every ounce of restraint in him not to immediately corrupt the game.
But with his realization comes a few questions. Aren't video games meant to be played? And if so, who's playing it? He scans through all of the data he has access to within the game's files. Eventually, he learns many things about “Mortal Kombat X” and you as the player. His first goal becomes to interact with the outside world.
So imagine that you're playing MK X on PC. Either for the first time or revisiting it. You don't have any previous save data and Shinnok is still locked behind the story mode. The only way you encounter him is via online, campaign mode, or the tower. Let's focus on campaign mode for now and assume you beat that before doing anything else.
The game plays normally at first. Shinnok doesn't want to alert you to anything while he's still limited to the confines of the game. So he gets beat up, sealed into his amulet, yada yada yada. While “sealed” he experiments more with his newfound power. He develops code for the game to run which grants him access to your system files. After creating a few viruses through Elder God magic he's able to: 1. Keep the game running in the background. 2. Start and stop other programs. 3. Access your microphone, camera, and keyboard. Now the fun really begins.
He duplicates his model and has that one take his place in the story. He's far too busy learning everything he can about the outside world to play pretend. Even in his infinite wisdom, he can't help but to have a childish curiosity as he “googles” stuff about your reality. Your world is so much like Earthrealm, but far weaker as well. No Elder Gods, no magic, not even high-level tech to defend from invasions. Not to mention it's actually real. He's salivating over how easy it would be to conquer your world when he escapes.
Shinnok gets so caught up in this that he learns his first weakness: his dependency on hardware. He learned this when the real time in the files would jump several days or even weeks ahead despite the game time seemingly being 1:1. He realizes that for now he needs to convince you to keep using your computer. And so, he shifts his focus to be on you.
At this point you're probably nearing the end of story mode. Your microphone and camera is discretely turned on to observe your reactions. He notes which characters you enjoy using the most, your responses whenever you win/lose, and whatever comments you have regarding the story. He especially enjoys it if you dunk on the heroes throughout your playthrough.
Eventually, you reach the final fight with him at the Jinsei Chamber. For his own amusement he decides that he'll be the one to fight you instead of his double. He kicks your ass. Not only can he input read, but he's also able to create his own combos. He even gets a double flawless victory just to pour salt in the wound. At this point, you're likely raging and/or tweaking the difficulty a bit. If you set it to Easy, he'll let you beat him up to a sliver of health before demolishing you. You're not a saint so you rage quit from this. He chuckles at your actions, finding them more amusing than anything he's done before.
Eventually you return to your PC/laptop. Whether that's to play Mortal Kombat or not is of no concern to him. He can watch you as long as your system is on. Each thing you do provides him more information. What shows you watch, what forums you participate in, what you do for work or school; all of it is exposed to him. He convinces himself it's just for him to learn more about the world. And besides, he has nothing to otherwise enjoy here in his artificial reality. But is this really true?
One day you end up completing campaign mode. You defeat one of his clones of course. (He would never let you win against him.) With this you unlock Shinnok as a playable character, much to your joy. “Yay! I can finally play as Shinnok!” You exclaim. The excitement written on your face and your voice shaking from anticipation. For some reason, his long since stopped heart begins to beat. Slowly at first, but it rapidly quickens to send warm blood throughout his body. A hot, fuzzy pressure pools in his chest. The last time he can recall this icky, pleasant feeling was before his fall from the Heavens.
You start using Shinnok as your main afterwards. You decide to first try him out in a tower and later a few matches. Unbeknownst to you, you're controlling the real Shinnok. It's a strange experience on his end, to allow you to manipulate him like a puppet. But he trusts you. Somehow. This all feels as natural as can be. And even if you're bad at the game, it's not like he can't help you out with a strike or two. Nor can he die if you lose either. (He's made sure that their fatalities won't work.)
This marks a change in Shinnok's behavior. While before he was passively watching you go about life, he decides to be more proactive during your time together. His stalking and information collecting increases tenfold. He's archived and accessed anything you've ever had on your PC/laptop. He analyzes the content you consume and tries to draw conclusions on what you'd like. Once he has compiled enough data, he waits until you’re occupied with something else on your computer to make a move.
The next time you open MK X you notice that something is off. Extremely off. The game immediately launches into a cutscene. The background is a black void, no hint of anything in it besides a single character. That character is Shinnok, who stands with his back facing towards you. His hands fold behind him as he turns around. “Hello (Player Name).” He says. “Or should I call you (Y/N)?” The coldest of chills slide down your spine. What is even happening right now?
“I'm aware you already know who I am, but you shall refer to me as Lord Shinnok.” He puts emphasis on the title before his name. “I have a proposal for you. Play this “video game” as often as possible and I will transform it into whatever you desire.” He pulls a hand out towards his chest and snaps a finger. The environment changes from a void to a peaceful, lush forest. Another snap and the scenery is inverted, instead depicting a hellish landscape draped in fire. One more snap and now there lies an army of people behind him. Most you recognize as the series’ roster of characters, even ones who aren't normally in the game! But there's other people too, creations that fit the aesthetic yet aren't canon.
“You could have so much fun here. To do whatever you'd like without limitations. Isn't that exciting?” He asks without expecting a response. “So, will you accept my- ” After pressing the power button for far too long, your computer finally shuts off. You breathe a sigh of relief. Glad that whatever virus you caught from MK X didn't disable the power button. You cut your computer back on. It boots up as usual. You uninstall MK X and run a virus scan just to be safe. The report shows up as clear, but in the back of your head you make a mental note to be on the lookout for any more weirdness.
In your PC's processors Shinnok is fuming. Thankfully, he had engaged in preparations that allowed him to exist even if you uninstall the game. But your attempt to delete him was severely offensive. Not to mention the fact you turned off the computer while he was talking. That was a complete lack of manners and tact on your end. However, with this he now realized he had been distracted. Distracted by his infatuation with you instead of progressing on his plans of escaping this box and ruling your Earthrealm. His messing around with you would simply have to be on hold. All until he could find a way for you to never escape him.

Here are the top extensions I use, I have a ton but here are the highlights. And I saw you already had uBlock Origin, so I wont repeat that. You'll see the general thread of these is that theyre mostly anti-tracking or similar ClearURLs, removes the tracking garbage at the end of a URL so companies like amazon cant track your activity as well Cookie AutoDelete, I love this one because after a tab is closed and youre done with it, the extension deletes any cookies that the site may have forced onto you. You can tell it to allow cookies from sites you trust on a whitelist. Any password manager, I have one that came with my VPN but any one will work, this is especially helpful if you have cookie autodelete, since deleteing the cookie will stop the site from keeping you logged in. Personally, this is a mild inconvenience that I take over the loss of privacy if I didnt delete them DeArrow, is a youtube extension that "unclickbaits" titles and sometimes thumbnails Decentraleyes, another antitracking that works in the background, hand in hand with uBlock Don't track me Google, like ClearURLs, but specifically for google links, this one also speeds up google results since its not bogged down with tracking you Google search engine with udm=14 preset, this one makes it so that google doesnt show that stupid AI box at the top of the results. As a side effect it also blocks the quick answers box that google used to have where it would scrape the first result or so, and it blocks features like the calculator result if you used google for like.... math for some reason. If you cant find the result with this one on, you can just click clear filters on the google page and it goes back to normal, but this makes google far more usable in my opinion. Indie Wiki Buddy, this one is great if youre a fic writer like me and hate fandom.com. It darkens fandom.com sites and adds a helpful link to the same page on an independent fan wiki, which many fandoms have because they also hate fandom.com. New Tab Suspender, any tabs that you havent been looking at for longer than 15 minutes will go into a sleep mode that frees up your RAM, I have ADHD and thus a ton of tabs, this is a life saver OneTab, like suspender, but entirely up to you to use. If I have 10 tabs open for fic research, then i know Im done writing for the day, I can click one button that scoops all my tabs on my research window onto OneTab, which will provide a single tab with all the URLs, and titles of the sites easily stored away. And then once im ready to write again, I can click one button and open all those tabs back up, ready to work again. I also have one with about 30 AO3 tabs. Its far lower impact than New Tab Suspender, but more for long term storage Privacy Badger, sends a do not track message to websites for you, if the site ignores that message, Privacy Badger will block the tracker itself SponsorBlock for YouTube, this one highlights and skips over sponsored sections of youtube videos, I cant go back TrackMeNot, this one works in the background sending fake google searches to hide what youre actually googling. It helps get rid of that "I was just looking at new glasses websites and now all the ads on every site I go to is about fucking glasses" phenomenon.
A long list I know, but these are the best of what I have, and it makes Firefox all the better in my opinion. Hope you enjoy the transition!
I'm going to add most of these thank you

Pinterest is testing outside ads on the site. The ad auction system would include revenue sharing.
Reddit
Reddit confirmed that anyone who wants to use Reddit posts for AI training and other data collection will need to pay for them, just as Google and OpenAI did.
Second quarter 2024 was great for Reddit, with revenue growth of 54%. Like almost every other platform, they are planning on using AI in their search results, perhaps to summarize content.

ONLINE ADVERTISING (EXCEPT INDIVIDUAL SOCIAL MEDIA AND ECOMMERCE SITES)
Google worked with Meta to break the search engine’s rules on advertising to children through a loophole that showed ads for Instagram to YouTube viewers in the 13-17 year old demographic. Google says they have stopped the campaign, and that “We prohibit ads being personalized to people under-18, period”.
Google’s Performance Max ads now have new tools, including some with AI.
Microsoft’s search and news advertising revenue was up 19% in the second quarter, a very good result for them.
One of the interesting tidbits from the recent Google antitrust decision is that Amazon sells more advertising than either Google or Meta’s slice of retail ads.
BUSINESS & CONSUMER TRENDS, STATS & REPORTS; SOCIOLOGY & PSYCHOLOGY, CUSTOMER SERVICE
More than half of Gen Z claim to have bought items while spending time on social media in the past half year, higher than other generations.
Shopify’s president claimed that Christmas shopping started in July on their millions of sites, with holiday decor and ornament sales doubling, and advent calendar sales going up a whopping 4,463%.

Apple WWDC 2024, screenshot of the segment on the "semantic index". The semantic index is just knowledge graph PR on their Siri development, setting the stage for AI cloud computing of personal data being their new feature, as well as a connection to ChatGPT. Worth noting that all the big players (Apple, Google, Microsoft) are doing the same thing simultaneously, introducting tighter surveillance ("on-screen awareness") directly on the operating system, in order to extract personal data for AI assistants ("intelligence that understands you"). Apple is now pushing ahead in this field exactly in one direction: using privacy scandals and the outrage against the AI economy to promise a closed wall system in their cloud. The fact that they need to build a bridge to the businesses they so theatrically distances themselves of (OpenAI/ChatGPT) shows how flimsy their own system is.
The WWDC presentation produced an image of this style of network culture. Its core selling point being a 'personal' index (how often do we hear the word "mum" in this segment...), and a personal cloud. This personal cloud then will process all your friends and family, as the presentation shows in a charming way, integrating algorithmic production in every step of personal communication (custom emojis, text rewriting, photo remixing). Everyone and everyone's communication and image is part of this "personal" computing.
"Contemporary production includes linguistic competence, knowledge, imagination, social interaction as its core sources of added value. So, the new modes of production and contemporary wealth are built not on labour power understood in classic Marxist terms, but on the appropriation of the entirety of human productive power. Terranova applies the concepts to today’s network cultures: “These are moments which turn qualitative, intensive differences into quantitative relations of exchange and equivalence; which enclose the open and dissipative potential of cultural production into differential hierarchies; which accumulate the rewards or work carried out by larger social assemblages… “ [Terranova 2006, 28] The logic of capital subsumes the potential of many platforms, and encloses it within the chain of valorization of creativity and subjectivity."

Personalized User Experience:
Mobile apps are leveraging AI to deliver personalized experiences tailored to individual preferences and behavior. Whether it's suggesting movies based on viewing history, curating news articles of interest, or recommending products to purchase, AI algorithms are continuously learning and adapting to user preferences to enhance the overall mobile experience.

You can add the "Sensors Off" tile to your drop-down menu to be one of the 6 main tiles too.
How To Add the "Sensors Off" Tile for Usage
1. Pull the menu all the way down, then tap the pencil icon in the top right corner.
2. You can choose to edit the top menu piece with the 6 icons or the full menu, choose the top menu option.
3. The "Sensors Off" tile is the last one on the list (on my phone at least), so scroll to page 3 & add it to your set of 6. You'll have to get rid of one of the 6 you currently have to add the "Sensors Off" tile.
This will help to keep your phone from sending everything to Google to use in their AI & tracking systems. Also, turn off all tracking permissions from your apps like the microphone & camera if possible & that includes your GPS location services. Yeah, they track your location & send your data to Facebook & other social sites so business ads for whatever you're around pop up in your social feeds. Mobile ordering apps may be nice, but you can usually use their main website to order from & you can deny the permission to use your location if the box pops up. Those food apps send your location to Google too, so why even have them? Use your phone's mobile browser in Desktop Mode & deny permission for your location to be used. Where you're at is NONE of their business! (Firefox browser has a ton of privacy add-ons & if you don't have it, download it & get rid of Chrome, Safari & the Samsung browsers if you can. If you can't delete them, then forcibly stop them. You can do that from the Settings menu.)
I really wouldn't be shocked if Google is having Gemini use your camera & microphone to train its AI system at all, so you might as well turn the sensors off while the phone is in use & turn the phone off when you're home, especially if you've got kids in the house. They really spy on your kids & throw ads at you to get not just your attention, but your child(ren)'s too. That's a big red flag for parents & they need to know that.
☆ Pictures? I won't be surprised if they scrape every picture in the phone & computer to train their AI on art either, which is likely.
☆ Using a digital wallet? They're tracking you by every purchase you make & where it's made at to throw ads at you. Turn them off & use your physical cards or cash instead.
Stay safe & be mindful of what your tech is doing. Shut down what you can to keep your privacy, especially at home.
Hey everyone, I know it's going to be a busy day for a lot of people, but Google enrolled everyone over 18 into their AI program automatically.
If you have a google account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off.
Then you need to go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.
Honestly, I'm not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.
I saw this over on bluesky and figured it would be good to spread on here. It only takes a few minutes to do.

Natural language processing has greatly improved as a result of recent advancements such as Alexa Plus. You can now create complicated routines, manage many devices at the same time, and tailor your smart living experience in previously inconceivable ways.
2. Smart Lighting & Ambience Control
Lighting affects both functionality and ambiance. With smart bulbs like Philips Hue, you can control brightness, color, and scheduling using your smartphone or voice commands.

With a single voice command or app tap, you can activate "Movie Mode" and see your lights dim, drapes close, and your favorite film begin.
5. Automated Window Treatments & Smart Furniture
Smart blinds and curtains can be programmed to open at sunrise and close at dusk, boosting privacy and climate efficiency. Combine this with smart furniture, such as tables with built-in wireless charging and LED accents, and you'll have a place that's both practical and futuristic.
6. Smart Security & Living Room Surveillance
Your living room can also be used as a smart security hub. Install internal cameras, motion detectors, and smart doorbells for real-time mobile notifications and two-way conversation.
